Three Sligo stores were worthy winners at the Londis Retailing Excellence Awards 2009,

O 'Kelly's Londis Cleveragh Road and Reape's Londis, Enniscrone were among those selected for a Gold Award, while Londis Grange Service Station, Sligo was selected for a Silver Award.

The Awards which were announced at the Group's Annual Conference held at The Heritage Golf and Spa Resort, Killenard on Tuesday 29th September. These prestigious awards, hosted by well known TV personality, Grainne Seoige recognise stores that maintain exceptional standards in-store and who received outstanding results during the Retailing Excellence store audits. The stores have consistently focused on delivering exceptional in store standards for the benefit of their customers.

A grand total of seventy five Retailing Excellence awards were presented to stores at this year's event. One store was presented with the inaugural Londis Store of the Year 2009 award. Thirty stores received the prestigious Gold award, twenty-two received Silver awards, whilst seventeen stores picked up a Bronze Retailing Excellence award. In addition five awards were presented to stores which have excelled across specific categories of the business. These awards are bestowed on those Londis stores that have excelled in maintaining superior in store standards across all elements of their business including, but not limited to, Customer Service, Food Safety, Marketing, Off Licence and the Fresh Fruit and Veg category.

The stores were well represented at the event and were delighted to collect their thoroughly deserved awards. The awards ceremony took place in the wonderful setting of the Heritage Spa and Golf Resort, with music provided by One Voice and X Factor finalist Andy Abraham ensuring celebrations continued well into the night. Earlier in the day delegates were treated to an exceptional line up of speakers including All Black rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick, Economist David McWilliams, Artisan Food Producer and Retailer Peter Ward, Nisa Today's Andrew Mouse and Emilie Coles from TNS Magasin. Peter Foley ADM Londis Commercial Director also addressed the conference and gave his vision for 2010.
