O’Malley the hero as Carbury snatch dramatic Cup win

Boyle Celtic struggled away to neighbours Aughanagh Celtic eventually taking all three points thanks to the only strike of the game from Michael Corrigan with only minutes left on the clock. This result leaves Boyle well clear at the top but they will need to improve if they want to stay there.

Arrow Harps journeyed to fellow strugglers Yeats United and conceded five goals without reply. Paul Logan and Darragh Kivlehan cracked home two goals apiece with David Mc Sharry completing the scoring for Yeats.

Leitrim side Manor Rangers travelled to Calry Bohs and shared the spoils in a one all draw. DWYER IS HAT-TRICK HERO

Grange United made a bit of local Junior history winning at home against Chaffpool Rovers their three goals were scored by the brothers Gavin Darren and Richard Gilsenan with Gavin’s goal in contention for the goal of the season.

CARBURY ADVANCE

In the FAI Umbro Cup 5th round Carbury were at home to Ballingarry Albion. The visitors took the lead in the first half through Adrian Cleere, Carbury levelled ten minutes into the second half with a rocket from Glen Shannon. The game then went to extra time and again Ballingarry took the lead with a Brian Cooney strike only for Shane Hayes to rock them back from the penalty spot. Both sides tried everything but it went to the wire and hero of the day had to be Carbury keeper Terry O Malley who saved two of the spot kicks to see Carbury move into the next round.
