Sligo clubs win golf awards

TWO SLIGO Golf Clubs, Strandhill and Enniscrone, have been successful in an awards programme organised by Portside Media, the publishers of Golfers Guide to Ireland which marks its 21st year in 2012.

THE AGM.OF Ballymote Golf Club Ladies Branch took place recently with a good turn out of members Breege Scanlon club , Secretary, gave a detailed account of the clubs activities for the past year. Outgoing Lady Captain Brenda Duffy in her address thanked the officers and committee for all their help to her during the year She also thanked the course committee for their good work over the year and the captain Sean Ross and the men,s committee for their cooperation to her during the year as lady captain .

WEATHER CONDITIONS during the week were not very pleasant for golf with Tuesday's Christmas Rumble being cancelled due to very stormy weather conditions The Christmas Rumble has been rescheduled for 5th Jan.
