St. Patrick's US trips for Mayor, Cathaoirleach
Sligo will be well represented in America for this year's St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Clr. Gerry Murray and County Manager, Mr. Hubert Kearns, will be in Oklahoma from March 10th to 19th, while Mayor, Clr. Jim McGarry will be jetting off to our twin city of Tallahassee in Florida for a week long trip on Sunday next.
The good news, though, is that the Mayor will be back on home soil in time to review the Sligo St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17th, which this year has a brand new route as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
It's understood Deputy Mayor, Clr. Jude Devins, is considering an invitation to travel to Chicago for the festive celebrations, although he has not yet made a final decision.
