Restaurant is 'source' of success

AN INNOVATIVE new Sligo business has been honoured as one of the country's top hospitality venues.
Source Sligo has been named as the overall winner in the Best New Establishment category of the National Hospitality Awards 2011. The judging panel described Source Sligo as "a worthy winner; three floors of food and wine related offerings that tailor to a broad church". The judges particularly noted the cookery school and "pleasant wine bar" when awarding the honour.
Joe Grogan, General Manger of Source Sligo commented: 'We are delighted with the award and acknowledgment. The award brings Source Sligo national recognition and is a win for Sligo as a whole. One of our aims when opening Source was to promote local produce and Sligo town as a destination.'
Among other new establishments recognised at the awards was Tra Ban in Standhill.
Situated in the heart of Sligo town on John Street, Source Sligo includes a large open-plan restaurant on the ground floor, a wine bar on the first floor and a state-of-theart Cookery School on the top floor.
