Professionals invited to event focused on international trade

Wednesday February 08 2012

SLIGO business professionals and entrepreneurs are being invited to attend an event focused on international and crossborder trading – providing knowledge and guidance on new opportunities for businesses that are looking to expand their current reach for their products or services.

The event, which will take place on Wednesday, 8 February, at the Model school Art Gallery, The Mall, is part of Ulster Bank's 'Business Live' series, running in association with Smallbusinesscan.com.

The events, which are free to attend and will appear in venues across the island of Ireland between now and the end of March, feature an informal panel discussion chaired by entrepreneur and cofounder of Smallbusinesscan.com, Fionan Murray. Those attending will also be given the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session and engage with trade support specialists from Ulster Bank and other organisations, including Intertradeireland.

The events are supporting the launch of Ulster Bank's new cross border and international business proposition, which offers a range of supports for companies who are doing or could do business abroad.

"In the past 12 months, we have experienced a notable surge in enquiries from Irish companies centred around international trading, exporting and how to finance these options. The events feature a panel of local and experienced business people who will discuss their experiences, mistakes and accomplishments with attendees," said Brendan Mcdermott, Regional Director, Ulster Bank.

The Sligo Business Live event will feature panellists ranging from online entrepreneurs whose micro businesses are selling globally over the internet, to larger manufacturing companies with a footprint in established and emerging overseas markets. Panellists include Simon Mckeever, British Embassy Dublin, Seamus Farrell, SF Engineering, Ross Palmer, Fastcom, and Mark Walton, VOYA.
