North West Hospice launch calendar

North West Hospice will launch, for the first time ever, a calendar on Thursday October 29th.
Northwest Hospice. This is a new initiative by the hospice and it is hoped that it will generate much needed funds in the current difficult economic climate.
Mr.Tim O Hanrahan, Consultant Surgeon, Sligo General Hospital will launch the calendar and Ms.Attracta Pender will MC the event at 8.00p.m. in the Radisson Hotel.
The calendar was compiled by photographers Christopher Kennedy and Emer O'Shea and has been edited by Fr.John Carroll. The photographs are all images from the catchment area of the hospice – they include dramatic landscapes as well as images from nature which according to Fr.Carroll, have the effect of making the ordinary look extraordinary. It includes quotes from local poets and contributions from relatives of patients who have availed of the hospice service.
Photographs from the calendar will be on exhibition at the launch and the exhibition will continue for a further week in the Radisson. Prints of the images will be for sale and all proceeds will go to the hospice. The calendar will retail at €10.
