Local groups benefit from EBS community fund
EBS has announced that four local initiatives across Sligo will receive funding from the special round of funding from EBS Community Fund to celebrate EBS' 75th Birthday.
Sligo initiatives being supported include Sligo Cancer Support Centre, The Friends of Cregg House, Tireragh Pro Active Age; Irish Wheelchair Association Sligo Branch.
EBS has been serving members and supporting communities throughout Ireland for 75 years and in celebration of this milestone, EBS local offices invited communities across the country last December to 'Make a Difference' and nominate local initiatives worthy of receiving grants through the special 75 years EBS Community Fund.
The fund provides support to projects that benefit local communities, with the intention that the money helps important projects to continue the great work that they do. To date the EBS Community Fund has given back €220,000 to local community organisations in Ireland.
The selected Sligo groups are among 153 initiatives around the country that were chosen by a group of EBS members and staff who reviewed all nominations and decided on the causes to benefit from the fund.
"The EBS Community Fund has been established to assist worthy organisations working in towns and villages around the country. I'd like to congratulate the winning groups in Sligo and hope the funding goes some way to support the good work they are doing in their communities. I would also like to thank everyone in Sligo who nominated local initiatives for taking the time to do so," says Aidan Power, Head of Marketing, EBS.
