Hold on. . .we'll have a superloo by 2014!
Cross those legs and clinch those buttocks tightly...... the good news is that we will get our long-awaited superloo; the bad news --it could be another four years before we see it function.
It's about ten years now since the Borough Council leased but later returned a public portaloo to its manufacturers because agreement could not reached on where in the town to locate it.
Last week came the grim news that the sorry saga was bogged down yet again because the council is no longer flushed with money.
But some hint of relief came at last week's public business forum when Mayor, Clr. Jim McGarry, suitably attired in his chain of office, promised there would be some movement.
Responding to a criticism from a number speakers, Mayor McGarry acknowledged that there had been problems in the past with finding an agreed location for the public convenience.
But he promised a solution would be found -by 2014. Not surprisingly, the announcement failed to cause much of a splash.
Still, after holding on for ten years, what's another four? As they say, all things must pass!
