Funding for traffic calming
Wednesday March 10 2010
Dr Jimmy Devins T.D has acknowledged funding towards traffic calming measures in Sligo town, announced as part of the local roads grants for 2010.
"Traffic calming is an important facet of the roads programme, particularly in built up areas where children or older people interact with traffic. I welcome an allocation of €120,000 to Sligo Borough Council specifically for traffic calming. Residents of Pearse Road will welcome an allocation of €70,000 towards their area, and there is also funding for the former N4 route in the town. In addition, funding has been earmarked for the busy junction of Tracey Avenue/Churchill in the town," he said.
