Wednesday January 18 2012

THE case of a woman who pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving causing the death of one person and serious bodily harm to another following a crash at Drumfin, Riverstown, in August 2010 was further adjourned by Judge Tony Hunt at Sligo Circuit Court in view of the fact that a judicial review application is before the High Court in respect of a decision by the Director of Public Prosections to proceed with a summary charge of drunken driving at the Circuit Court.

Aisling Cummins, Courthouse Drive, Grange was charged after the accident on August 28th which resulted in the death of Karen Mounsey and in which her husband, James, received serious injury.

Mr. Keith O'grady, B. L., informed Judge Hunt that the issue was listed in the High Court for mention on February 27th next and Judge Hunt adjourned the case to May 22nd and he remanded Ms. Cummins on bail until then.

The charge of drunken driving had previously been struck out for want of prosecution at Ballymote District Court.
