70% of the public favour O'Connell Street remaining pedestrianised

Wednesday October 28 2009

In the online survey run on Clickoxo.com, the majority of people are in favour of O'Connell Street remaining pedestrianised.

The poll result has remained fairly constant over the last week with the yes vote staying around 70% and the no vote around 25% It is unlikely therefore that this ratio will change in the remaining few days of the poll is. If you have not voted yet you still have a chance until the 31st of October.

The poll was well advertised and over 500 people voted on the issue. This is way beyond the number that would be used in any statistical survey and because the ratio of yes to no has remained fairly constant from the beginning it is reasonable to assume that the poll is an accurate reflection of how the people of Sligo would vote on the issue if they were given a chance.

The Clickoxo.com poll is not an official vote but it does indicate that over 70% of the people of Sligo who responded to the clickoxo.com poll want to keep O'Connoll Street pedestrianised.
