OWENMORE GAELS G.A.A. Club had a very successful fundraiser in the Castle Dargan Hotel on Friday 26th March. The function was packed to capacity which was enjoyed by all age groups and was hosted brilliantly by RTE's Marty Morrissey.

Justin Gilmartin and Bernard O'Grady as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton were crowned overall winners of the talent show. Owenmore Gaels G.A.A. Club would like to thank most sincerely all of those that supported them in any way during their fundraiser. In particular thanks to all sponsors as without them this night would not have been possible. First prize of the holiday voucher for 2000 Euro was won by David Kelly Sligo, second prize of a Philips Television was won by Aidan Lavin, Waterford, third prize of a Panasonic Camera was won by Enda McGonigle, Ballymote, and fourth prize of a Garden Rocking Chair was won by Attracta McLoughlin, Ballisadare.

WELL DONE everyone who got involved in the last Tidy Towns clean up. Clean ups will continue to be held on the last Saturday of every month until further notice. Collooney Tidytowns is looking for more members from areas such as Highwood Park/Markree heights/Ashbrook. Next organised clean up is 27th March. Please support the church gate collection at Collooney Masses coming soon. Money raised will be put towards plants/flowers for this year.

A TEMPORARY vacancy exists in the Community Crèche for a Part-Time Office Administrator. Working between 15 – 20 hours per week. There is some flexibility in how and when the hours are worked. PARISH BINGO takes place in the Parish Hall, Collooney on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. Singles book €10; Doubles €15.

UNEMPLOYED ACTION GROUP meetings are held in the Teeling Centre every Monday and Friday at noon. With the downturn in the economy, help is out there if you find yourself unemployed and this group can give you support and advice e.g. with C.V. preparation, budgeting, return to education etc. Meetings also take place in the VEC in Sligo every Monday at 10 a.m. with similar objectives to the action group meetings in our local Teeling Centre.
