Community Games entry forms available

ENTRY FORMS for the Maugherow Community Games have been distributed in the area and should be filled in and returned by to-day, Wednesday 3rd February. Forms must be signed by the competitor and their parent or guardian. Anyone aged between 4 years old and 17years old and lives in the Maugherow Parish can take part in this year's Games. These Games events are being held in February and March. The games are:-Indoor Soccer, Badminton, Chess, Draughts, Table Tennis, Handball, Choir, U14 Quiz, Cross Country, Art, Model Making Project and Culture Corner. Everybody is asked to return their forms. Anyone who doesn't have a form please phone (086) 806 1538. Anyone over 18years old who would like to help out on any of these events, please come to the next meeting in the Maugherow Parish Hall at 9.00pm on Tuesday 9th February or contact a committee member right away.

HUNT: A Car Treasure Hunt is organised for next Sunday 7th February leaving Cissie Mac's, Castlegarron, at 1.30pm.The funds raised will be donated to "Child Aid" to renovate an orphanage for street children in Nairobi. A local man, Kevin Langan, is travelling there this month. Everyone is invited to come along and support this worthy cause. This will be a Fun Day for all age groups.

UNITED: On Sunday 24th January Maugherow United had an away fixture against Coolaney United. They were defeated by a score of 3 goals to 0. Last Sunday 31st January the team had another away match against Real Tubber Reserves. The score can be seen on the Sports Section of this paper.

CONCERT: The Annual Maugherow Variety Concert is being held in the Maugherow Parish Hall, on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th February 2010, starting at 8.30pm. Proceeds will be divided between the Maugherow National School and the maintenance of the Parish Hall. All parents with children who attend the National School are requested to take part in the Concert. Admission Euro5.00 for adults and Euro3.00 for children. CONGRATULATIONS: Well done to and best wishes to Niall Brady who graduated as a Garda in Templemore recently.

DINNER: The Annual Grange Dinner & Dance function is being held in Davis's Lounge and Bar, Drumcliffe, on Thursday 11th February starting at 7.00pm.

GAA: At The AGM of St. Molaises Gaels Club held on Saturday 16th January, the following members were elected as Officers for the Club for 2010.

BORD NA OG TO FILL: The Underage Team Managers as proposed by the Bord na Og Committee were ratified by the meeting as well as the following management structures:-U20: James Waters, Jimmy Langan. Junior:Tommy McGowan and Henry McCaffrey, Senior:-Joe Keaney, Seamus Hoey. There was a meeting of the Club Executive in the North Sligo Sports Complex last Thursday 28th January.

SERVICES: On Sunday 7th February at 9.30am in the "Chapel of Ease", Munninane, a Morning Prayer Service will be held. At 10.45am in Lissadell Church and at 12noon in Drumcliffe Church a Holy Communion Service will be celebrated.
