ONCE AGAIN, the chance to enter something in the Boyle Summer Show has come around. The categories this year include Vegetables, Horticulture, Home Baking, Home Produce, Crafts, Art, Photographic, Junior Section, Fancy Dress, Miscellaneous, Dog Show, Cat & Unusual Pet Show and Poultry Section, so there is something for everyone! Boyle Summer Show Schedules are available from Úna Bhán Tourism, local churches, shops and from the booking office (located beside Marions Fashions - Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Friday 27th 10am to 4pm). Boyle Summer Show Booking Office will open on Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Friday 27th August from 10am to 4pm each day, located beside 'Marions Fashions' Bridge Street, Boyle. Entries to all the various classes in the Boyle Summer Show can be submitted here. Summer Show Schedules will also be available.

Great prizes on offer in this years Boyle Summer Show Parade, 1st €100, 2nd €50 & 3rd €25 (FREE to enter). The Parade on Sunday 29th August will include a colourful Samba Band, Boyle Marching Band, animals, vintage cars, motorbikes and floats. This is an opportunity for clubs, groups, associations, societies & businesses to advertise themselves, so please call Denis Dodd on 086 3105528 to enter, or turn up at 1.30pm on the day. The Parade will commence from Family Life Centre on Military Road at 2pm and will make its way up the town to finish at Boyle Sports Complex.

A great opportunity for children to use their imagination and dress up in fancy dress for a Fancy Dress Competition in Boyle Summer Show. The competition takes place at 4.30pm, the theme is 'Heritage', the entry is free and the prizes are 1st €30 Book Voucher, 2nd €20 Book Voucher & 3rd €10 Book Voucher. THERE WILL be a junior Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament on Thursday 26th August for the Vincent Harrington Memorial Cup. Members €1 non members €5. For further information please contact Noreen on 071 9662996 THERE WILL be an Exhibition of drawings in the Boyle Library by Ina Duyn called "The sound of my pencil", on Thursday 19th to Saturday 28th August during Library opening hours. Ina has always been very creative mostly in needle craft but started to draw about 14 month ago and has produced almost 200 very colorful drawings. THIS WEEKEND, Ceoláras Coleman, Gurteen Co Sligo hosts the annual Coleman Traditional Festival; the dates are Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August. The Festival will be officially opened by Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council at 9pm on Friday, August 27th and there will be a traditional music concert featuring local and visiting musicians to follow. BOYLE TRADITIONAL Music Group will be performing in the Boyle Abbey on Sunday 29th August at 2pm until 4pm. NATIONAL COLLEGE of Ireland is commencing two Certificate courses in the Autumn in Boyle 2000/Roscommon Higher Education Centre Elphin Street, Boyle. They are First Line Management Levels 6 and 7, commencing early October Tuesday evenings, and WEB Technologies Level 8 Tuesday and Thursday evenings commencing 28th September. Certificate in Counselling from Maynooth will commence 6th October on Wednesday Evenings. KING HOUSE in Boyle will be holding an Antiques Fair on Sunday 29th August at 11am until 5pm. A quality Antiques Fair will be held in the prestigious Long Gallery of King House in Boyle County Roscommon The Fair forms part of the nationwide celebration of our historic past through "Heritage Week" and public admission to the event is FREE. King House is also offering FREE admission for tours of the House and exhibitions on Saturday 28th August from 11am with last admissions at 4pm BOYLE MUSICAL Society kick start their rehearsals for their upcoming Musical Sweet Charity. The rehearsals will start on Monday 30th August and will continue every Monday and Thursday at 8.30 and all talented adults are invited to join up for twelve memorable weeks throughout the autumn with THE NEXT meeting of the Boyle Book Club will take place in the Boyle Library on Thursday 2nd September at 6.45. The book for discussion is "To Kill a Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee, copies of this book are available in the Library. All are welcome. BOYLE GOLF Club will be holding a Charity Classic in aid of the Tommy Simon Fund on the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of September 2010. BOYLE BADMINTON Club will be back for the new season in Boyle Sports Complex from Monday 6th September at 9.30pm. Club Nights, commence on Mondays from 9.30 to11.30pm and Thursday 9pm to 11pm. THE KIDDIES fun fish day which was held on Sunday 15th August at the Wooden Bridge and was hosted by the Boyle Rambling Anglers Association was a great success. A large crowd of mums, dads and children attended with lots of fun games and refreshments for all. The results of the Competition were: Best Girl, Lauren Connelly. Best Boy, Ben Egan. Overall Winner1st Louis Garvin, 2nd Paddy Sharkey, 3rd Shay Noone 4th Danny and Elle Funki, 5th Jake Sharkey and 6th was Jack Greene and Rhiauna Nicholson. Winner of "Guess the Weight was Pat Brogan.
