'No Crows' set to land in Barry's of Grange
THE Multi-cultural Sligo-based band Nocrows are playing a special family show in Barry's, Grange on Sunday, February 12th at 5pm.
Guitarist Felip Carbonell explains the reason: "Young smiley faces in the front row or jumping around the dance floor to our tunes is one of the best memories I have of our last trip away. So we decided it was time to organize a show in Sligo available (and affordable) to families that would like to bring their children out for a bit of 'craic'. The structure of the show will be the same as a regular gig but with special emphasis on explaining to the audience about the origin of the tunes and how the instruments work, so hopefully it will be good fun for all ages"
The band's latest album Nocrows on the Moon was released in 2010 following the steps of the two previous ones, Magpie (2008) and Live in the Strand (2006). "Releasing a new album in 2012 would be the ideal progression (new CD every two years) but it looks unlikely. Although… we never say never." concludes Felip.
Nocrows are Anna Houston (cello and mandolin), Steve Wickham (fiddle and vocals), Oleg Ponomarev (fiddle), Felip Carbonell (guitar and vocals) and Eddie Lee (double bass).
