Music fans will be delighted to hear that LLOYD COLE returns to the stage doing what he does best AND THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT SLIGO LIVE SESSIONS announces another of their really special intimate concerts featuring the Lloyd Cole Small Ensemble (Lloyd Cole, Mark Schwaber and Matt Cullen) in the acoustically beautiful atmospheric venue, The Model on Saturday, 23rd October 2010.

After almost a decade in self-imposed solo exile, Lloyd Cole developed an itch to be back on the road with other musicians, he missed the interaction, the camaraderie and the joy of performing before a live audience. His eagerly anticipated album, his first with a band for many years, "Broken Record" will be released on 13th September 2010.

Sligo Live Sessions will play host to an amazing line-up of Irish and international stars this October Bank Holiday Weekend. SLIGO LIVE SESSIONS 2010 takes place over the October Bank Holiday Weekend from Thursday, 21st - Monday 25th October 2010. For more details log onto www.sligolive.ie The latest study by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) shows Sligo maintaining its 'litter free' status from last year, in 11th position out of 53 towns surveyed. A fall in the number of litter-free towns has prompted IBAL to call on businesses to clean up outside their premises twice a day to improve our streetscapes.
Meanwhile, Sligo citizens are invited to submit photos by mobile phone of litter blackspots in their neighbourhood as part of a "litter twitter" campaign to alert local authorities to litter-ridden areas locally. "This is the perfect technology through which people can highlight areas that urgently need cleaning up," explained Dr Tom Cavanagh, Chairman of IBAL. An Taisce comments for Sligo: "A very good result for Sligo with over half of the sites surveyed getting the top litter grade. We surveyed seven towns in Connaught and Sligo is the cleanest - Connaught champions! The top ranking sites were not just
